This disease is affecting people a lot that is why it is one of the most researched diseases with multitude of clinical trials.

Mesothelioma

Here are given some options that help you to cure it

(a) Surgery: Once diagnosed for Mesothelioma, on the history of your record surgeon will decide the type of treatment and medication needed depending entirely upon the age and physical health of the patient. The types of surgery are:

(b) Pleurectomy: This is also known as ‘Decortication’ in which infected chest lining and lung would be removed by surgeon. This procedure helps in reducing pain and size of cancerous tumor within chest.

(c) Thoracentesis: In this procedure surgeon flushes out excess fluid from and around the lungs with the help of a needle. This reduces the pressure on the lungs and makes your breathing easier.

(d) Extrapleural Pneumonectomy: This is very complex procedure done by surgeon in extreme cases. In this process the entire lining surrounding the heart, lungs, diaphragm and heart is removed to prevent further spread of cancer by killing unseen cancer cells.

(e) Radiation Therapy: Here surgeon uses high-energy x-rays to kill cancer cells and shrink the cancerous tumors. The only problem with this radiation therapy is that it not only kills the cancer cells but it also kills perfectly normal human cells.

(f) Chemotherapy: In this process, chemicals are injected into the cancerous parts of the body which destroys the cancer cells or stop their multiplication. Specialists who treat mesothelioma support could administer the chemical directly into peritoneal cavity or patients’ pleura for better results.

So take care of yourself and opt the procedure your surgeon suggests you.
